My Story: Why Kidney Health Is Personal
For me, this work has never been theoretical. It started with my own father.
Years ago, my dad was facing serious kidney disease. His medical team had scheduled surgery, and they had prepared the family for a major procedure — they expected to remove a large portion of his affected kidney. As his daughter, and as a Naturopathic Doctor, I did for him exactly what I do for the people I serve today: I supported his whole-body health in the weeks leading up to that surgery — always alongside his medical team, never in place of them. He kept his surgery exactly as scheduled.
When it was over, his surgeon came out to update our family. Then he turned to me and said something I have never forgotten — that there was something different about my father’s case. That his kidney was in remarkable condition, and that far less needed to be removed than they had prepared for.
That was more than a decade ago. My father is still here, and still well.
I don’t share this as a promise. Every person and every case is different, and this is one family’s experience — not a typical result, and not a treatment for any disease. I share it because it’s the moment that set the entire course of my life’s work: a conviction that caring for the whole person — alongside excellent medical care — matters more than most people are ever told. It’s why I do what I do. And it’s why I’m in your corner now.
