This policy explains what information The Body CAN Ministry collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
1. Information you give us
- Contact details — name, email address, mailing address, and phone number, when you book, subscribe, or write to us.
- Payment information — processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Health information you choose to share — anything you tell us about your health, medications, allergies, pregnancy or nursing status, or conditions you are under a physician’s care for.
- Photographs — images of the face, tongue, or fingernails that you upload for a traditional observational consultation.
2. Important: we are not a HIPAA-covered entity
The Body CAN Ministry is not a licensed healthcare provider and is not a covered entity under HIPAA. Information you share with us does not carry HIPAA protection. We treat it carefully and confidentially as described here, but you should understand that the legal protections attached to records held by a licensed medical practice do not apply.
Please share only what you are comfortable sharing on that basis.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to you and provide the consultation or educational material you requested.
- To process bookings and orders, and send confirmations.
- To send you newsletters, teaching, and encouragement — if you asked for them.
- To improve the website and understand which content is useful.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade your contact details or your health information to anyone.
4. Your photographs
Photographs you submit are used solely to provide your consultation. We will not publish, share, or use your images for teaching, marketing, or any public purpose without asking you first and obtaining your explicit written permission. You may ask us to delete your photographs at any time and we will do so.
5. Who else touches your data
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the ministry. They may process limited data on our behalf:
- Website hosting and security — to keep the site online and protected.
- Email marketing — to deliver newsletters you subscribed to.
- Payment processing — to take payment securely.
- Website analytics — to count visits and see which pages are read. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Text messaging — if you opted in to SMS. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights or safety of any person.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies to remember your preferences and to measure traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
7. Email and text preferences
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. For text messages, reply STOP. You can also simply write to us and ask to be removed.
8. How long we keep things
We keep your information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our record-keeping and tax obligations, then delete it. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will do so except where we are legally required to retain a record.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including a secure connection and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
You may ask us to show you what information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete your information, or stop using it for marketing. Write to us at the address below and we will respond promptly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local law, and we will honour those.
11. Children
This website and these services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Please check back periodically.
